Searching for a New Builder

I mentioned in an earlier post how our first contractor builder broke up with us.  That, of course, set us out to find a replacement. We looped back on several builders we started chatting with years ago before Covid and followed up a few new leads from friends.  While some were great, we never quite agreed.  Then a good friend mentioned pet sitting for a contractor who built the gorgeous house she visited often.  So we made a call to Brad and set up meeting a few days later on a Sunday after Mass.  The date happened to be January 19, 2025.  Remember how I mentioned God's plan?

No joke- check out the readings at mass that day:

Mass Readings For January 19, 2025 – Sunday, Second Week in Ordinary Time.

"Your builder shall marry you" Ha. We recognize the actual meaning, but the irony of the words were not lost on us.

Needless to say the meeting with Brad went great and as we toured his home, we noticed so many similarities to what we wanted in our home.

After talking a bit more and checking several references, we signed again. By the way, the references we spoke to had mostly built with Brad during COVID and reported he stayed on time and budget despite the whole country shutting down at times and prices skyrocketing. Thanks again, Alia!
