Complicating the plans

Leave it to me to plan my dream home on my computer and then decide to actually build it. And just for fun, I decided to start buying antiques to use in the new house. Maegan said this made things complicated as now we had to plan a kitchen window that would go above our 4 foot wide, high back, cast iron farm kitchen sink. She weighed nearly a literal ton and we are thankful to family who helped us rescue her

I’m hoping she’ll turn out like this:

And how about this beauty that also needed 4 feet of wall space:

Yep another marketplace find that will eventually be right at home.

See-if you are going to build a home, a custom home, you should build it to accommodate your pretty things, right?

We have so many collected items that I’m excited to fit into our dream space.
Anyone know how to hang my antique telephone rolling ladder?  Susan and Maegan drove this one a few hundred miles on the top of my car..

What about the perfect bracket to mount my vintage stove doors that will be covering a passageway on top of our counter in the kitchen leading to the butler’s pantry?  These came from a dealer all the way in France!

I’m sure it will all work out.. right?

Otherwise, since we are building on part of an old farmstead, we will be aiming for a 1910-1920 Folk Victorian vibe.

Not what is popular today, but a combination of what would have been and what we need for our family today.

Trust me when I say I have confused more than one kitchen designer by wanting an unfitted looking kitchen. It’s not like what everyone is doing-it’s kinda like great-granny style and I’m very excited to see how dreams realize!
