50k!

So just a quick catch-up story as the excitement builds and I'll fill you in on the back story in upcoming posts. There is so much to think about and consider when purchasing land and building.  I had no clue how much more went into the process than went into to just buying a home. After some investigation, I've found that to ready this land I want, it will cost me an additional 50k or so above the purchase price just to be able to build.
Yep 50k!  That's a lot of money to find lying around. It's also a ton of house and a ton of saving!  For me, the first thing I did was to go back to the sellers, explain what I learned and asked for a reduction in purchase price as any buyer would incur similar expenses. Duh! Well, they countered our research didn't match, but then I recountered as I forwarded evidence from the experts that unfortunately, my numbers were correct. I'm currently awaiting a response to see if the sellers will come down another 5k to lessen my burden.
I promise to get into the back story, it's just that right now, I feel I'm at the point of a breaking news story and it should interrupt currently scheduled programming.  Wish me luck... we are talking major life change and serious big girl investment here people!
